Chapter Nine: Rumors

“Ms. Kim! May I please use the restroom?” I asked as I jumped up and down. People behind me were giggling as I stood up.

“Yes, take the bathroom pass Ms. Yoon and hurry up. We’re starting a new unit soon,” she sighed.

“Yes, ma’am!”

I quickly gaited to the bathroom as quickly as I could. I made it down the hallway and in front of the door of the girl’s bathroom. I swung the door opened and went to the first stall. … Ahh, relief. I stared at the bathroom door… Hm? Ji Eun? What is my name doing up there…?

Yoon Ji Eun is such a whore!

What the h*ll? Why were these all over the door? Did people hate me just because Jung Ho admitted that he liked me or something?! Normally I didn’t really care about what people thought of me, but this was too absurd. Me, a slut? Not even near possible. I glared at the words and was about to get up and flush the toilet but two girls walked in.

“…Ji Eun?” one said.

“Yeah, that slut. I can’t believe she is pretending to hate Jung Ho,” the other answered.

“Yeah, I know. She’s just playing hard to get.”

“I don’t even think he likes her.”

“Yeah, I bet he’s getting paid to say this crap. I’m sure I’d look better with him, don’t you think?”

“What about me?”

“Well, either of us is better than that nerdy Ji Eun. Just because her brother and sister are popular, now she’s trying to be with them too… What a shame.”

“I heard she was caught making out with him in the guys locker room. She followed him in there and almost raped him!”

“Poor Jung Ho, I feel sorry for him.”

I couldn’t stand it. I pulled up my skirt and underwear and flushed the toilet. I swung the door open and the girls gasped.

“Ji Eun!” they said in unison.

“Who the h*ll told you this information?” I asked.

“No one…”

“Are you trying to start rumors?” I said angrily.

“Eww, are you trying to be threatening now or something?” one of the girls said.

“No. I’m just asking.”

“Psh, trying to be tough now,” the other said.

“Yah! Who told you?” I yelled.

“Why do you care?”

“Because I’m going to yell at who ever started these rumors!”

“Oh, someone… close to you,” one of them said.

“Jung Ho?!” I yelled.

“No,” the first girl said.

“Who…?” I questioned.

“Your sister,” she grinned.

“Ji Hye?” I asked.

“Yeah.”

“Oh, go figure. Whatever. Sorry, but to be honest, I don’t think I’m the slut, I think you are,” I grinned. “…by the way… I’m sure that Jung Ho likes me, and will never like you. No matter how many times I tell the guy I don’t like him.” They glared at me with the ‘what the hell was that’ face as I walked out of the bathroom searching for Ji Hye like a hawk. I peeked at all her classes and finally found her not even in class, but she was in the courtyard with the rest of LBY.

“Yah!” I yelled as I walked towards her.

“Hey,” she smiled.

“Yah! Why are you spreading rumors about me?”

“What?”

“You’re spreading rumors about me being a slut and sh*t. What’s your problem?!”

“I didn’t though.”

“Some girls in the bathroom told me you did.” I saw Jung Ho smirking in the back. “…YOU!” I yelled and glared right at Jung Ho.

“’What?” he yelled.

“You started rumors?!”

“Maybe…” he grinned.

“Yah!” I yelled.

“Will you say yes now to make the rumors true?”

“No! I’m not a slut!”

“Slut? D*mn, that went far,” he said with a worried expression on his face.

“Yeah…”

“Say yes then?”

“No! I told you, I have said no and will continue to say no. Leave me alone Jung Ho!”

“Please?” he begged.

“The rumors need to stop.”

“I’ll make them if you say yes.”

“What?!” I yelled.

“Yeah, I told you there would be consequences…”

“But the rumors are too far!”

“Sorry, I’ll make them stop…”

“Argh! Yah! I told you no matter what you do or say, I will still say no!”

“Fine…” he sighed.
